BB&T CENTER TO HOST 22ND ANNUAL 2015 METROPCS ORANGE BOWL BASKETBALL CLASSIC

University of Florida, Florida State University, Oklahoma State University and Florida Atlantic University to participate

SUNRISE, Fla.  – BB&T Center announced today that it will host the 22nd annual MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic. The Florida (UF) Gators and Florida State (FSU) Seminoles will take on the Oklahoma State (OSU) Cowboys and Florida Atlantic (FAU) Owls, on December 19. Game times will be announced at a later date.

The Orange Bowl (www.orangebowl.org) is a non-profit sports organization that promotes and serves the South Florida community. The Orange Bowl features a year-round schedule of events culminating with the 2015-16 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 31, 2015. Other Orange Bowl events include: the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic, Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance, Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships, Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta, Orange Bowl Swim Classic and Orange Bowl Paddle Championships.

The Gators will host Oklahoma State, who have played in 27 NCAA Tournaments overall, including the last three. The teams last played in the Elite Eight of the 2000 NCAA Tournament, when the Gators won to move on to the Final Four. The Seminoles, who have been ranked as high as No. 21 in pre-season polls, will take on in-state rival FAU.
