BB&T; Center Hosts Big Crowds For Y100 Jingle Ball And MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic On Back-To-Back Nights This Weekend
Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the BB&T Center hosted packed events on back-to-back evenings this weekend beginning with Y100 Jingle Ball on Friday and the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on Saturday.
Friday night saw Y100 Jingle Ball thrill a packed house at the BB&T Center (@theBBTCenter) with a star-filled lineup of acts highlighted by Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke and Enrique Iglesias.
Friday’s event was the final stop of the national iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2013 Tour that featured some of the most well known artists in music today including Austin Mahone, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Armin Van Buuren, Fall Out Boy, Flo Rida, Avril Lavigne, Jason Derulo and Fifth Harmony.
On Saturday South Florida college basketball fans saw Florida State defeat No. 22-ranked Massachusetts 60-55 before No. 16 Florida defeated Fresno State 66-49 in front of a crowd of 11,214 at the BB&T Center.
“We were thrilled to welcome such an amazing lineup of musical talent to the BB&T Center on Friday night for Y100 Jingle Ball and then host an incredible doubleheader of college basketball on Saturday,” said SSE VP of Event Programming Kevin Grove. “The annual Y100 Jingle Ball concert is one of the most exciting and anticipated events of the year, and the concert was certainly one not soon to forget, nor were the two exciting victories for home state teams Florida State and Florida.”
This is just the first of many upcoming events being held at the BB&T Center featuring some of the biggest figures in entertainment. In early 2014, the BB&T Center will host such names as; Jay Z, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, Jeff Dunham, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Paul Simon & Sting, Lady Gaga and others.
