Access Guide for Guests with Disabilities

The BB&T Center Team would like to welcome everyone to share in the excitement of this state of the art sports and entertainment facility. Nothing has been overlooked in the meticulous planning of this crown jewel of indoor arenas, including care and consideration for our guests with disabilities. We hope you will enjoy this exciting facility and take full advantage of the wonderful entertainment showcase for South Florida and our visitors from around the world.

BB&T Center recognizes the needs of guests with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. BB&T Center continues to make every effort to comply with State and Federal accessibility regulations and accommodate guests with disabilities. The BB&T Center Access Service Center is located at the Guest Services Center on the Plaza Level. All disability access inquiries should be directed to:

Tickets
For your convenience, accessible ticket windows are located on the Plaza Level. There is also one accessible location at each of the ticket offices outside and inside BB&T Center. BB&T Center recommends that guests with disabilities purchase their tickets in advance to obtain desired seat locations. Wheelchair seats that are not purchased during an advanced sale period (which may vary depending upon the event) may be released for sale to the general public. Emergency Evacuation Procedures
Designated BB&T Center ushers and other personnel have been trained in proper procedures for emergency preparedness. These designated staff memebers will have the primary duty of assisting guests with disabilities to specific locations.

Parking
90 accessible parking spaces are available for our guests with disabilities on the northeast and southeast sides of the Center. Vehicles legally using disabled license plates or window cards are permitted to park in these designated spaces.


Transportation
A service is available to provide door-to-door transportation for guests with disabilities who are unable to use Broward County Transit busses or Metrobus. STS carriers use mini-vans, sedans, lift equipped vans and small busses to transport guests. A wheelchair rider who can safely and independently transfer to a sedan or taxi may be scheduled to ride as an ambulatory passenger. Limited STS service in Broward County is available.

Elevators
Public elevators are available at BB&T Center to make the facility readily accessible for all guests. These elevators have a ten-passenger capacity and are designated as preferred use for guests with disabilities during all events. BB&T Center staff will ensure that this policy is rigorously enforced during all events. A total of nine escalators are accessible at the Plaza, Suite, Club and Mezzanine Levels with access also provided to the Event, Plaza and Press Levels.


Restrooms
All public restrooms and water fountains are accessible to our guests with disabilities. In addition, an accessible family restroom is located at each level of the facility. Guests will find accessible fixtures, like sinks and towel dispensers, handy to use in all designated restrooms.


Concession Stands & Retail Areas
All concession stands are accessible on various levels of BB&T Center. If guests with disabilities require assistance at any service area, please notify the nearest event staff member.



Assistive Listening Devices
Headsets and receivers for our multi-channel LPB Radio-Aide are available at no charge at the Guest Services Desk located on the Plaza Level at Section 101.



Telephones
Accessible telephones are located on every level of BB&T Center. A complimentary portable TDD/TTY phone is located at the Guest Services Desk located on the Plaza Level at Section 101.



Service Animals
Service Animals for the disabled are permitted in BB&T Center. If accommodations are required for your service animal, please notify us at the time of ticket purchase.



Interpreting Services
Guests, who require interpreting services for a Center concert, should contact the ADA Coordinator within three weeks of the announced concert ticket sales.



Smoking
Due to the Florida Clean Air Indoor Act, smoking is not allowed in the interior of the building.



Multiple Chemical Sensitivity
BB&T Center understands that many guests are allergic or sensitive to chemicals in aftershaves, colognes and perfumes. The Center requests that guest’s refrain from wearing artificial scents of any kind when attending events.



ATMs
Automated Teller Machines are located on the Plaza Level, Sections 105-131 & on the Club and Mezzanine Level at Section 405.



First Aid
First Aid stations can be found on the Plaza Level, outside Section 121 or the Mezzanine Level, outside Section 421.
