James Taylor to Exclusively Play BB&T Center
Five-time Grammy Award winner comes to Sunrise on November 15

With a career spanning close to fifty years, legendary singer-songwriter, James Taylor is set to hit the stage on November 15, 2014 at BB&T Center.

Inducted into both the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2000, Taylor began his career in the mid-60s before rising to prominence in 1970 with his hit “Fire and Rain”.  Both the song and his album, Sweet Baby James reached number three in the Billboard charts. The album earned Taylor a Grammy Award nomination for Album of the Year.

Taylor’s follow up album, Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon spawned his rendition of Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend”, which not only became his first Number one hit on the Billboard charts but won him his first Grammy in 1971 for Best Pop Vocal Performance.

Born in Boston, MA in 1948, Taylor grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where his interest in music began. Learning Cello as a child, Taylor picked up the guitar shortly after and wrote his first song on the instrument at the age of 14. In 2009, Taylor was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame along with George Clinton, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk and Randy Travis.

A master of folk-rock and soulful songs, Taylor has been highly influential in music throughout his career, winning five Grammys and collaborating with countless musicians on stage and in studio, from Paul McCartney, Art Garfunkel and Stevie Wonder to contemporary artists like John Legend, Allison Krauss and Taylor Swift.

Taylor’s current World Tour will take him to the renowned Royal Albert Hall in London, England before embarking on the US leg of his tour and returning to Europe, where he will make stops in Germany, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands.

Making his highly anticipated return to BB&T Center for the first time since June 5, 2010, Taylor brings a celebrated career of memorable melodies to Sunrise for a must-see musical event.
