KANYE WEST’S SAINT PABLO TOUR COMING TO BB&T; CENTER ON DEC. 4
"Kanye West is a genius…he turned the concept of an arena concert upside down and presented a show unlike anything ever seen on such a large scale…In a year filled with some memorable large-scale concerts — from Metallica to Beyonce — West just may have topped them all.” – Twin Cities Pioneer Press
“Mesmerizing and ferociously engaging. It demands attention from the audience as few arena concerts ever do…It's time to appreciate Kanye for what he is: a genius.” – Miami New Times
“A beautiful expression of fanaticism engineered by an artist who uses frenzy as paint…a minimalist, elaborately efficient way to deliver an arena show…Mr. West’s live-show innovation is the latest in a year full of them; a reconsideration of the top-down power dynamic of large-scale live concerts for the age of social-media intimacy and immediacy.” – The New York Times
“Groundbreaking…The floating stage is West's latest representation of his relationship with fans, and one of his most impressive…By eliminating a traditional stage, West redefines the hierarchy of accessibility…Saint Pablo's is a concept legitimately worth applauding.” – USA Today
“Awed by the impressive new set…you simply couldn't take your eyes off of him…Spectacle has always been the hallmark of West's many tours, seeking ways to show his audience something that they've never seen before. With his latest presentation, he's managed to up the ante once again and redefine what audiences might consider possible along the way.” – Rolling Stone
"Arena acts have long attempted to surmount the spatial barrier between themselves and their audiences. But catwalks and booms can’t begin to compete with a floating stage…disorienting, otherworldly, and immensely pleasing; the arena itself seemed to fade in and out of existence, everyone now part of a single pulsing organism…exhilarating.” – Chicago Sun Times
“Onstage, he has few equals. There's immense power in the way he holds a crowd with just his own force of will.” – Houston Chronicle
"He is walking artistic affect, a creative powerhouse who hits you with the greatest light show you've ever seen, then subtly punctuates it with just Ye. Being in the presence of a genius, little is needed to accompany an entrance or exit. It is felt, known, cheered, and then mourned. God bless Kanye West, God bless America.” – City Pages
