Maroon 5 Thrills Sold Out BB&T; Center Crowd Last Friday
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Maroon 5 thrilled a sold out crowd on Friday evening during their exclusive performance at the BB&T Center. The Grammy Award-winning artists were joined by Neon Trees and Owl City.
“We were thrilled to host an incredible sold out performance from Maroon 5 at the BB&T Center,” said SSE Executive Director of Event Programming Aaron Zimmerman. “They’re one of the great pop groups in the world and they rocked a packed house of South Florida fans with all of their hits.”
Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as “Best New Artist” of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5’s releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. The band won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane and their double platinum album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, which included hits like "Makes Me Wonder" and "If I Never See Your Face Again." In 2010, the band released their third studio album, Hands All Over, which also recently went platinum.
This past summer marked the debut of Maroon 5’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, Overexposed. Recorded in Los Angeles, CA, the release is a rich, pop-infused collection that Rolling Stone referred to as “their best yet,” and People Magazine called “sweet soul kissed pop.” Overexposed features a series of chart-topping singles including: “Payphone,” which immediately shot straight to #1 on both the Top 40 and Hot AC charts, and “One More Night,” which has been at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for five straight weeks.
