One Direction Thrills Capacity Crowd at BankAtlantic Center During Exclusive South Florida Performance

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that chart-topping pop group One Direction thrilled a sellout crowd at BankAtlantic Center in an exclusive South Florida performance last night, Sunday, June 1.
“One Direction’s incredible performance in front of a capacity crowd last night simply underscored the BankAtlantic Center’s standing as the premier entertainment destination in South Florida,” said SSE president & COO Michael R. Yormark. “We are absolutely thrilled that One Direction chose the BankAtlantic Center as their exclusive South Florida destination and we look forward to welcoming them back for another memorable performance next summer.”
The concert marked the final stop on One Direction’s “Up All Night” tour, which started Feb. 24 in Chicago and made 34 stops in their debut across North America. The boy band wowed the crowd with their No. 1 hits, including “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing.” They became the first British Group to top the Billboard 200 with a debut album when “One Direction” hit the No. 1 spot in March.
One Direction will return to the BankAtlantic Center for another performance on June 13, 2013. Limited tickets for the performance are still available and are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone (800-745-3000), atwww.ticketmaster.com and the BankAtlantic Center box office.
The BankAtlantic Center was recently ranked No. 9 in the United States and No. 21 in the world according to the first-quarter arena venue rankings by trade publication Pollstar. The “Center of it All” is in the midst of a successful 2012, with upcoming performances including Cirque du Soleil, Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks, and Carrie Underwood.
