The Who Coming Exclusively To BankAtlantic Center Thursday, Nov. 1
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that one of rock music’s legendary bands, The Who, will make an exclusive South Florida appearance at the BankAtlantic Center on Thursday, Nov. 1. The show will kick off the band’s first North American tour in four years, and will feature performances of the band’s entire 1973 double album Quadrophenia, along with an additional collection of other classics.
Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, July 27 at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone (800-745-3000), at www.ticketmaster.com and Saturday, July 28 at 9 a.m. at the BankAtlantic Center box office.
“We’re thrilled to welcome The Who to the BankAtlantic Center and offer our fans a night full of incredible rock classics,” said SSE Director of Event Programming Aaron Zimmerman. “After four decades of performances, The Who still provides one of the most entertaining concerts around.”
Led by founding members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, the tour will also feature Zak Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Simon Townshend (guitar/backing vocals), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards/backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboard/backing vocals). The British Rock band will make 36 stops across the U.S. and Canada on the tour.
The BankAtlantic Center was recently ranked No. 13 in the United States and No. 35 in the world according to the mid-year arena venue rankings by trade publication Pollstar. The “Center of it All” has a remarkable schedule of concerts and events on tap for the remainder of 2012 including Cirque du Soleil, Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood and more.
